Years of Survivorship: 2
A young educator, whose motto is “Live, Love, Laugh,” was suddenly diagnosis with breast cancer. The year 2014 was proving to be one of the best years I have ever experienced with a new love interest and a new school site, however in December the heart wrenching news of cancer was about to upset my world. If you were to ask anyone who knows me best, they would say that my diagnosis made me stronger. Although I was the one going through the chemo treatments and having numerous side effects of it, I didn’t let it damage my spirit. Smiling and laughing was my way of ensuring that breast cancer didn’t take over my life.
For more than a 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s.
