In September 2012, a month after finishing ultrasound school, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Only a few months prior, a mass had been found over my collar bone while practicing in school. After multiple biopsies, surgeries, and radioactive iodine treatments, I can now say I am cancer free!
At the end of the day, I am thankful for my trial. God has used it to help me find my job, understand my patient’s trials, and to grow closer to Him. My strength comes from Him and my wonderful, supportive family!
For more than a 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s. Join us to help finish the fight.
